  • Condition: Condition is consistent with age. There are some signs of in-painting under black light, particularly along bottom and right side of canvas, a small area in his hair (by temple), and on the bottom left side. There is white residue along bottom of canvas, which could be from previous frame rubbing or something else. There is a white residue along bottom of canvas. Canvas has been cut down and relined at some point. Tiny paint flecks on lapel of sitter, as well as lower left. There are three tiny spots of paint loss to canvas on top left corner. The right middle/top side of canvas has two paint fleck losses near frame. Upon side view of painting, it seems like there is surface mold. Painting would benefit from a good cleaning.
