Eugenio Pattarino (1885-1971, Italian), Thirteen Glazed Terracotta Nativity Figures, 20th c., consisting of two Jesus in the cradle; two Virgin Marys; two Josephs; three kings; a cow; a donkey; and two musical shepherds, six pieces signed on the interior, "E. Patterino, Italy," Tallest King- H.- 9 1/2 in., W.- 5 3/4 in., D.- 3 1/2 in. (13 Pcs.)


  • Condition: Condition consistent with age. Height of Joseph(s) - 7 in. Would benefit from cleaning.
    Piper 1: Some craqueler throughout lighter glazes, otherwise nothing to report.
    Donkey: Minor firing flaw on proper right rear hoof.
    Joseph 1: Repair to ribbon between hands where ribbon was broken off and then re-attached, some minor firing flaws.
    Joseph 2: Part of ribbon between hands now lacking, glaze flaked from his front foot at toe, and minor chip in edge of cloak (less than 1/16 in.)
    Manger 1: Two fingers on proper right hand are chipped, now lacking tips (can see terra cotta).
    King with Crown: Minor chip to proper right bottom of cloak and one small point of gilt fringe on front of coat now lacking.
    King with Turban: Crack in ribbon on back of head, tip of jar now lacking (can see terra cotta).
    All other figures: nothing to report. A handsome collection.
