Jimmie Lee Sudduth (Alabama, 1910-2007), "Bird," 20th c., paint and mud on found board, signed lower right, presented in a white frame, H.- 24 1/2 in., W.- 47 1/2 in., Framed H.- 26 3/4 in., W.- 49 1/2 in.

  • Condition: Condition is consistent with age. Yes, it should be easy to remove the frame without damaging the artwork. The right top and bottom of panel shows loss to wood. There is a puncture to panel on the left of the wing, just below the butt of the bird. This looks to have already been there when artist was painting because of brushwork consistencies. This also would not be out of line as he often painted on found objects. Handsome example.
